Enjoy learning Drum Kit
Drums can be likened to the wind in the trees, or waves crashing on the shore – driving nature’s innate rhythm. Whether played loudly or softly, the drums emphasise the personality of a piece of music – accentuating and orchestrating the rhythmic pulse.
Good drumming doesn’t just happen it takes work.
Drum lessons at World Heart Beat Music Academy embrace and encompass musicianship; technique; drum set coordination; reading and interpreting drum set charts; and repertoire development. This will all be in the context of common groove patterns found in Rhythm and Blues, Pop, Funk, Rock, Jazz, Brazilian, and Afro-Cuban music.
Throughout their leaning, our young musicians are exposed to a wide variety of drumming styles from the great artists and drum masters and with good musicianship, fluency and performance being at the heart of our teaching. Added to this, our students are able to gain a great sense of freedom, and a better feel for their instrument, by playing with others. We invite and encourage all of our drummers to attend our jazz classes and to join our 51st State Band, as well as the variety of World Heart Beat contemporary ensembles.
