Following the success of last year’s event, we are delighted to announce this year’s online Piano Party Festival taking place on Saturday 17th July at 6pm.
40 World Heart Beat musicians (aged 5 to 25 years) ranging from beginners through to music college level will be showing off their musical talent to an online audience.
Pieces such as Toccata (Khachaturian) through to Disco Baroque (Alan Bullard) and Mazurka (Chopin) will be performed by our young musicians in a series of three 45-minute concerts.
Following the performances, Sahana Gero, MBE, Founder and Artistic Director will announce the prestigious World Heart Beat Piano awards:
Ray Charles Ignite Award (for stepping into a new and exciting phase in their playing over the course of the year)
Yuja Wang Life is Music Award (for those who live, breathe, eat and drink music all the time)
Julian Joseph Composition Award (for showing creativity and productivity and for uncovering their personal uniqueness through composition)
Nadia Boulanger Starting out Award
Hampton Hawes Sparkle with Style Award (for those who bring style and sparkle to their engagement and execution in music and just bring happiness through their excellence)
András Schiff Aspire Award (for consistently striving to play better and succeeding)
Martha Argerich Diligence Award (for diligence of study and execution)
Leonard Bernstein Heartbeat Fellowship Award (for personal excellence and improvement and also supporting others consistently throughout the year)
