Federico D’Attellis (seven-string guitar) and Patricio Sullivan (charango, median, ronroco) are instrumentalists and composers with a long career in academic and popular music, are widely known in Argentina, and beyond.

The two musicians first performed together in Switzerland in 2019, and after this firsr performance they recorded their first album Final Abierto. This features compositions of instrumental Argentine folk music for charango and guitar, and was composed and produced between Berlin and Buenos Aires.

and from this meeting the partnership grew, to encompass not only the album, but also 2021’s ‘Centennial Concert’ in Berlin, in tribute to Ariel Ramirez and Astor Piazzolla.

The charango is an Andean instrument that Patricio Sullivan plays with an urban and contemporary feel, whilst Federico D’Attellis gives his seven-string guitar a great chamber treatment.

Today, with all this experience as a duo, they offer a journey through Argentine and South American music where they invite you to dream with their landscapes, their customs and their culture.

FEDERICO D’ATTELLIS

Federico D’Attellis was born in Buenos Aires. He studied classical guitar at the Conservatoire of Music “Manuel de Falla” in the city, and at the same time he studied Tango and Folklore at “Escuela de Música Popular de Avellaneda”. He improved his guitar skills with the renowned Víctor Villadangos and took courses in composition, arrangements and improvisation with references of Argentine music, such as Lilián Saba, Ernesto Snajer and Diego Schissi.

As a composer and arranger of tango and Argentine folklore, he fuses the elements of popular music with academic music and jazz, with a conceptual treatment from the rhythmic, the melodic and the harmonic.

PATRICIO SULLIVAN

Patricio is a specialist in Latin American strings, and a composer with extensive academic interests; he is currently one of the Charango leaders in Argentina and Latin America.

He was born in Buenos Aires, and also completed his academic studies at the “Manuel de Falla” Superior Conservatoire in the city.
He has participated in the most important Charango festivals in Latin America, and in 2010 he received the Charango de Oro, international category at the XXVII Feria y Festival del Charango in Aiquile, Bolivia

He has composed and arranged works for Charango and Orchestra and was has been invited to participate as a soloist in Symphony and String Orchestras. He is the creator and artistic director of the Noche de Charanguistas project that has been developed since 2011, in various countries in Latin America and Europe.
