World Heart Beat

NEW Widening Horizons programme

UPDATE

As you know, due to Covid-19 we have had to postpone our original WIDENING HORIZONS programme until lockdown is lifted, but in the mean-time we still want to work with you and support you during this time.

Youth Volunteering

Are you age 15-25 years and want to learn new skills, commit to empowering and improving your community and LOVE music? Do you want to develop your skills in event management, communications, production and more? Then we want to hear from you! Come and take part in World Heart Beat’s new WIDENING HORIZONS programme.

There are three parts to the WIDENING HORIZONS programme which you can take part in (all, or just one of them) – whatever suits you.

HeartBeat Collective

We are looking for 6-8 dedicated World Heart Beat musicians age 15-25 years. By taking part in the HeartBeat Collective you will have the opportunity to have your say in the future of our academy; help shape our future by bringing fresh new ideas and ways to improve what we already do; help represent your community by being a voice for your peers; as well as speaking publicly about your time at World Heart Beat, advocating for us and celebrating the work we all do together.

HeartBeat Collective sessions will be led by Izzy Bianchini. Izzy is a Creative Producer and Youth Worker specialising in youth arts and community development. Izzy has worked on a range of creative projects that have ranged from producing stages in major UK festivals to platform local young talent, to supporting young creatives to produce their own arts events. She currently works part-time at the Barbican as a Music Producer. When she’s not there, you might find her exploring London on two wheels!

Skills Development and Exchange Programme

Here you will empower and up-skill yourself through access to masterclasses on event management and communications skills (including video / radio production), 1-1 and group mentoring sessions, CV clinic and support with job applications and interview prep, working on a project using your newly acquired skills and putting them into practise in the real world.

3 x Industry Toolkit Days

More info to follow, but this will focus on different aspects of the music industry later in 2020 at our new home in Embassy Gardens (watch this space!)

What do we need from you?

All we need from you is your energy, time and commitment. There is no cost to taking part in WIDENING HORIZONS, and we will even cover your travel expenses (and there will be pizza!). Your time is valuable, and that is what you will contribute to cover the cost of taking part.

How do I get involved?
