World Heart Beat

‘Try An Instrument’ – Open Day

Join our Open Day on Saturday 11th June (3.00 – 5.00pm) to try a musical instrument and to find out more about the academy’s music lessons, bands and ensembles.

World Heart Beat is fully inclusive, and offers young people some of the finest music tuition available. It teaches a rich music programme for young people (aged 6 – 25 years) from grassroots to early career level, across a breadth of music genres including Jazz, Asian, Brazilian, Celtic, Eastern European, Gypsy and Latin.

The academy offers bursary assisted places to low-income families who are keen to learn music. Part of the agreement will require a commitment to taking part in our American 51st State Band.

WANDSWORTH ARTS FRINGE (WAF) FESTIVAL

The Open Day is part of the Wandsworth Arts Fringe Festival (WAF), SW London’s most eclectic arts festival (10 – 26th June).

Expect a range of events from learning disability-led theatre group The Baked Bean Company, winners of last year’s WAF Audience Choice Award, a street party on Battersea High Street in collaboration with Riverside Radio; and Share Community, who will be bringing the glamour with an eco-fashion show led by disabled artists with support from students and alumni from the Royal College of Art’s MA Fashion programme, as well as local dance company Ballet Soul returning with a live performance developed from their film Othello21. The list continues!

The Open Day is a ‘drop-in’ session at World Heart Beat, on Kimber Rd.
