Music is in the air – pop-up space in Nine Elms

To celebrate Make Music Day (Tuesday 21st June) World Heart Beat launches Music is in the Air – a pop-up space for playing and enjoying live music in Nine Elms this summer!

Music is in the Air will launch at Alcove 3 along Merchants Way, the colourful walking route which runs through New Covent Garden Market between Nine Elms Tube station, Arch 42 and Ponton Road.

We are delighted to welcome Pianist and Composer Howard Blake (who’s amazing work includes his soundtrack for Channel 4’s 1982 film, The Snowman) who ‘christened’ our piano to Nine Elms’ passers-by.

Free music lessons and space to practice

If you’re aged 5-25 years and interested in piano, guitar or vocal lessons, or if you’re a musician keen to find a regular space to practice or to perform al fresco this summer then World Heart Beat would love to hear from you.

The alcove features a donated piano as part of World Heart Beat’s instrument donation programme, and has been painted by local artist, Nunziatina Del Vecchio

FREE piano lessons are available on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 3.30 – 7.30pm. The pop-up music space will be available until the end of September. If you are interested in using the space for free lessons, to jam or to hold a concert, please email info@worldheartbeat.org
