Music has many traditions, and Julian Joseph is a huge admirer of folk traditions from all over the world, including those at the heart of jazz and classical music.
His recent project offered a first glimpse of virtuoso Tabla master Alok Verma in Atmospheres in Audio Theatre. Now with their relationship firmly established, they delve into the potential of their complimentary and mutual traditions for more creative outpourings in their Silk Road Duet. Julian Joseph
Recognised as one of the finest jazz musicians this side of the Atlantic, pianist Julian has been a towering figure in contemporary jazz for over two decades, and has devoted his long career to championing the music, both across the UK and into the far corners of the world.

Alok Verma
Tabla maestro is a multi-talented music producer, who has performed with a number of artists including Ian Anderson of Jethro Tull, and Boris Grebenshikov. He takes musical inspiration from a diverse sources ranging from Ustaad Zakir Hussain to Hidalgo Giovanni, and Buddy Rich, just to name a few. Alok also produces his own music and beats, with Avartan and Aura being his most recent albums.
