About

Sussex University is partnering with World Heart Beat to deliver two workshops –

Solar Panel

Ever wondered how USB Chargers work, or how solar power works as a renewable power source? In this workshop you’ll learn about Photovoltaic Solar Cells and how we can assemble them in series to power our pocket devices. You will assemble your own solar charger and test it with a power bank or your mobile.

Sonic levitation

For this workshop, you will solder and assemble a device that uses the power of sound to defy gravity. You’ll have the opportunity to suspend a small object in mid-air, effectively creating a sonic levitation device. This hands-on activity will not only introduce you to basic principles of acoustics and physics but also allow you to explore the fascinating applications of sound waves. Join us to build something truly remarkable, where you can see a tangible demonstration of how sound can manipulate objects in space.
