Join pianist and composer Tom Donald for an intimate piano concert exploring a vast range of musical genres. Including an exciting new collaboration with the Brightside String Orchestra—one of London’s newest and most dynamic orchestras. The program includes original compositions and jazz arrangements, followed by solo performances and improvisations reminiscent of Tom’s many influences, ranging from Rachmaninov, and Oscar Peterson to 70’s Pop Music, Keith Jarrett, and Nina Simone to European Gregorian music. Biography
Tom Donald is an Australian-born pianist, composer, and educator known for blending classical, jazz, and improvisational styles in his performances. Based in London, he founded the London Contemporary School of Piano, where he champions a creative and collaborative approach to music education. His concert repertoire spans both classical works and original pieces, reinterpreted through live improvisation. Tom has performed at prestigious venues including Abbey Road Studios as well as a rare concert series at the top of the Shard.
Tom’s work extends to innovative projects like Pax Aeterna, a contemplative album recorded with the Benedictine Monks of Pluscarden Abbey, which merges his love for improvisation with Gregorian chant. His collaborations also include work with the Citizens of the World Choir where Tom is a founding member, using music as a bridge for social and cultural understanding.
