We’re delighted to welcome back our Summer Jazz Hang programme in partnership with The Julian Joseph Jazz Academy.
It’s the perfect opportunity for young, talented jazz musicians to connect with others, learn from experienced musicians, and build a global community through performance, education, and social interaction.
With jazz school rehearsals and recordings taking place across both our venues in Kimber Road and Embassy Gardens, our musicians have been lucky enough in the past to receive tuition from jazz legends trumpeter Wynton Marsalis, jazz pianist Julian Joseph and vocalist Cleveland Watkiss.
We are so grateful to our Jazz Talent Development sponsors, ZEDRA, who help sponsor this work!

Summer Jazz Hang Performances
Don’t miss the chance to see and hear some of the exciting young jazz musicians as they open two of our summer jazz concerts at World Heart Beat Embassy Gardens, including:
Jazz in The Gardens: Julian Joseph Trio (Friday 4 July)
An unforgettable performance including jazz compositions by George Gershwin, Cole Porter and Duke Ellington by Julian Joseph and his Trio, the undisputed heir to the global house of jazz.
Jazz in the Gardens: Gabrielle Stravelli Quartet (Friday 11 July)
American singer Gabrielle Stravelli, one of the world’s foremost interpreters of the American Songbook, will be bringing her quartet to present a programme of well-known classics and lesser-known gems from jazz’s history. In all her performances, Stravelli combines a tremendous swing feel with a gift for lyric interpretation, leading to a career defined by highly individual choices and a genuine connection with audiences.
This concert is part of the 2025 Battersea Jazz Festival, which runs from Thursday 3 – Sunday 13 July.
