Nick Cohen

Nick has been a professional freelance bass player for the past 25 years touring, recording and performing with a range of artists across many musical genres around the world.

In 2001, Nick joined the teaching staff at the University of Westminster as their bass tutor at the inception of its Music Performance degree course. He also taught at City and Islington College, London Centre of Contemporary Music and has private students.

Since 2011, he has been one half of 101 Artists in which he fulfils a role as Musical Director for many current young pop acts.

Nick is also the Creative Director of Yokohama Calling, which is a multi-disciplinary arts programme specifically focused on raising awareness of Japanese jazz musicians through collaborative events with UK artists.

Nick has been teaching regularly at World Heart Beat since 2019, and also provides technical and logistical support for our new premises in Nine Elms.

As a working musician, Nick continues to perform regularly.
