World Heart Beat Music Academy will be holding Brazilian Rhythm Workshops for young people (aged 6 – 25 years) plus a performance by Charlles Andre Souza De Almeida (known as Charlles Junior) and his Samba Band (plus World Heart Beat musicians) at the Latin Jam 2 Festival in Nine Elms, on Saturday 28 August.
Charlles Junior
Charlles Junior is a gifted Brazilian singer/songwriter who’s making a strong impression on the UK music scene with a high demand for his live shows. His grounding in the popular Samba, Bossa Nova and Choro traditions of his native country Brazil live at the root of his craft as he prepares to release his highly anticipated MPB (música popular brasileira) album in the coming months.
Workshops
Charlles Junior will be joined by guest artist Ava Joseph (plus World Heart Beat musicians) who together will lead a family day of music making and performances with Samba grooves and repertoire. Young people will be able to take part in one of two Brazilian drumming and guitar workshops at 11.30 – 12.15pm and 12.30 – 1.15pm. A final performance will take place from 2.00 – 2.45pm.

Please bring along your own drums, guitar or percussion or alternatively, instruments will be available on the day. Any young person can take part – from no experience to advanced are all welcome – join in the fun and learn some Brazilian beats! The Latin Jam 2 FREE Festival
The Latin Jam 2 Festival, a 2-day event taking place across the Bank Holiday Weekend, is a free, fun day out for all the family with live music and dance taking place at the Black Cab Coffee Company, a stunning riverside piazza venue overlooking the inlet dock and the River Thames in Nine Elms. It’s also close by to World Heart Beat’s second music venue which opens in Spring 2022!
