Miguel Gorodi Quintet

Join Miguel Gorodi, a London-based trumpet player, composer and teacher working across a broad spectrum of Jazz and improvised music. This quintet is Gorodi’s latest project reflecting his interests in contemporary and traditional ideas in Jazz, and features some of the most distinctive voices on the UK jazz scene: Nathaniel Facey (Empirical, Jack DeJohnette, Jason Moran), Alcyona Mick (Yazz Ahmed, Ingrid and Christine Jensen, Nikki Iles), Calum Gourlay (Kit Downes, Tommy Smith, Will Vinson), and James Maddren (Gwilym Simcock, Kit Downes, Jacob Collier).

Gorodi released his debut album Apophenia on the Ubuntu label in 2019 featuring his original compositions for Nonet. His versatility has seen him work across many styles of music with musicians and projects such as Ian Shaw, Jamie Callum, BBC Big Band, Ivo Neame’s Dodeka, Tom Challenger’s Brass Mask, Emma Rawicz Jazz Orchestra, SEED Ensemble, Yazz Ahmed, Femi Temowo, The London Jazz Orchestra, Smitty’s House Band, London City Big Band, The Ticklers and many others. He has performed in Spain, France, Belgium, Germany, Italy, Switzerland, Norway, Hungary, Ireland, Monaco and across the UK.
