Tickets: £65 / £35 / £25 / £17.50 Concessions

Julian Joseph says,
“The legacy of solo performance has meant that the performer in jazz has to find a completeness that satisfies a desire to be as creatively charged as being in an ensemble. Solo the artist has to be even more connected to their environment, instrument and audience. Untethered from the ensemble the musician has to make their oneness the ensemble and operate with freedom and calm in this paradigm illuminating their connection to everything inside and out into inspiration whilst embracing the freedom to roam creatively in any direction.”
Joseph continues,
“The artist conjures, communicates and sculpts seeking to project the feeling of intimacy, to turn that closeness into something real for the listener.”
This is all the more real in the hands of Julian Joseph. Compositionally creative in the moment, he fashions the unexpected with his ability to take any part of a song – familiar or original – into the fresh territory of invention. Joseph is a seeker and loves to explore with music he has written or drawn from the vast cannon of standards or just great pieces he loves. Rest assured that everything you’ll hear is borne out of the deep well of honesty and love for the sound of jazz that makes his playing so compelling and adored. A master of sound and space his playing conjures energy, excitement, warmth and grace. Come and be transported into the very personal world of Julian Joseph solo.
