About the Artist
Peyman Yazdanian is an acclaimed Iranian pianist and composer known for his unique fusion of Persian musical sensibilities with Western classical traditions. Trained from a young age in Tehran and later in Europe, Yazdanian has composed over 40 solo piano pieces and numerous orchestral works, earning international recognition for both his concert music and film scores.
He is also well known for his improvisation, especially in live concerts in Iran, where he has collaborated with renowned jazz musicians such as Björn Meyer and Klaus Gesing, blending classical structure with spontaneous, genre-crossing expression. Since debuting as a film composer with Abbas Kiarostami’s The Wind Will Carry Us in 1998, he has scored a wide range of acclaimed films across Iran, Europe, and Asia. His evocative style, influenced by Rachmaninoff, Satie, and Arvo Pärt, has been featured in works by directors such as Jafar Panahi, Lou Ye, and Ramin Bahrani, positioning him as one of Iran’s most influential contemporary musical voices.
