Vivaldi's Four Seasons - James Larter: Rhythm of the Seasons

In collaboration with virtuoso soloist James Larter, FIGURE breathes new life into Vivaldi’s iconic Baroque concerto cycle. By reimagining the original composition, this performance transforms Vivaldi’s vivid depictions of the seasons, blending the texture of strings with an array of pitched and unpitched percussion instruments. Alongside the Four Seasons, expect a kaleidoscope of rhythm with pieces for solo percussion.

James Larter

James Larter has always been obsessed with rhythm. Having studied at the Royal Academy of Music and Manhattan School of Music, he has won awards from the New York Philharmonic and Yamaha Foundation. 

He is an in-demand session musician working with the likes of Sampha, Tony Visconti, Chris Kimsey, Berlioz, Gang of Youths, Dave Okumu and the London Philharmonic, ENO and the Philharmonia. He has played concertos with the LSO and BBC Philharmonic and is also a founding member of S.O.L who play regularly in some of London’s finest clubs. His album ‘Polarity’ was released in 2021 and a new ambient project ‘Elysium’ is set for release later this year.
