Cameron Scott Jazz Orchestra

Up-and-coming on the London jazz scene, a unique soundworld merges the old and the new.

Monday 18 November 2024

EFG London Jazz Festival 2024

Tickets: £20

London-based jazz trombonist, euphoniumist, composer and arranger Cameron Scott presents the 18-piece Cameron Scott Jazz Orchestra.

Playing Scott’s original compositions, and arrangements of compositions from Charles Mingus and other jazz legends, the Cameron Scott Jazz Orchestra creates an excitingly unique soundworld, symphoniously taking influence from classic jazz composers such as Duke Ellington, Geri Allen and Tomasz Stanko, contemporary classical composers such as Bartók, Stravinsky and Shostakovich, and Bulgarian folk music.

Cameron Scott is one to watch on the jazz scene, having won the Trinity Laban Gold Medal Showcase earlier this year with this 18-piece orchestra. He has performed alongside a host of revered jazz musicians on the London scene, including Laura Jurd, Tom Challenger, Byron Wallen and Tony Kofi.

This is a standing show as part of the EFG London Jazz Festival.
