Cameron Scott Jazz Orchestra

Up-and-coming on the London jazz scene, a unique soundworld merges the old and the new.

EFG London Jazz Festival 2024

Tickets: £20

London-based jazz trombonist, euphoniumist, composer and arranger Cameron Scott presents the 18-piece Cameron Scott Jazz Orchestra

Musician facing camera, head and shoulder shot

Playing Scott’s original compositions, and his arrangements of compositions by Charles Mingus, Tomasz Stánko, and other music legends close to his soul, the Cameron Scott Jazz Orchestra has developed an excitingly unique soundworld.

Scott’s writing symphoniously takes influence from the big band lineage of Duke Ellington and Thad Jones, 20th-century classical composers such as Bartók, Stravinsky and Shostakovich, and his constant passion for exploring new music including Bulgarian folk and South African jazz.

Cameron Scott is one to watch on the jazz scene, having won the Trinity Laban Gold Medal Showcase earlier in the year with this 18-piece orchestra. He has performed alongside a host of revered jazz musicians on the London scene, including Laura Jurd, Tom Challenger, Byron Wallen and Tony Kofi.

This is a standing show as part of the EFG London Jazz Festival.
