Our International Piano in the Elms Trail continues at The Atrium of The Food Exchange, New Covent Garden Market, Nine Elms, with the talented Emile Hinton.

This event is FREE. No booking required.

Emile Hinton is an award-winning jazz pianist and composer emerging from the heart of the London jazz scene. A mentee of renowned UK pianist Julian Joseph, he graduated with first-class honours from Trinity Laban Conservatoire and recently spent three months at the Tribeca Jazz Institute in NYC, studying with some of New York’s top musicians. In 2023, Emile was honoured with the Tina May Musician’s Company Young Jazz Musician of the Year. As the pianist for jazz legends Ricky Ford (Charles Mingus, Ellington Orchestra) and Jazz Messenger Jean Toussaint (Art Blakey, McCoy Tyner), Emile has performed at top venues across the UK and Europe, including Ronnie Scott’s, The Jazz Café, The Barbican and Pizza Express, working with their ensembles and leading his own diverse projects across multiple genres.

‘Emile is a joy to witness, he’s a thoughtful, conscientious and well-balanced young man and his talent certainly speaks for itself. I predict that he will rise rapidly through the ranks and be a musical force to be marvelled at’  Jean Toussaint

Emile is set to play at World Heart Beat’s Jazz in the Gardens summer season.

Along with the solo piano concert and in the spirit to truly celebrate our community in Nine Elms, there will be a chance to enjoy the exhibition and photographs of New Covent Garden

Wholesale Market Life Through the Lens of Clive Boursnell

Since a fateful day in 1968 when he found himself by chance in the perfect spot to view the captivating lights and shades of Covent Garden Market in WC2, Clive Boursnell has been embroiled in a lifelong pursuit to provide the world with photographs that truly encapsulate the essence of the life and times of the country’s oldest and largest wholesale market. Fifty-seven years, tens of thousands of photographs and several published books later, Clive is still hooked and a regular presence at the market. Most if not all of you will have been photographed by the great man on numerous occasions. NCGM is recognising Clive’s lifetime of dedication with an exhibition of his favourite, largely unseen work from the last 20 years. Clive received an Outstanding Achievement Award at the World Food Photography Awards earlier this year, in recognition of his fantastic work at both market locations over nearly six decades.
