London-based folk-jazz duo present their debut live performance

London-based folk-jazz duo Laurelai present their debut live performance. Joined by rhythm section and string quintet, Laurelai will perform selections from their self-titled album, released in July, as well as a curated set of covers honouring many of the artists who inspired its creation. In this their first ever show, they’ll introduce their signature blend of additive harmony, classically informed orchestration and folk stylings, offering an immersive exploration of their wholly singular musical voice.

Biography

Laurelai is the combined forces of Rosie Pudney (vocals) and Josh Madine (piano).

Rosie is a classically trained singer/songwriter from Edinburgh whose stage command has made her a mainstay on the London function band scene for some years.

Josh’s work as a producer and arranger has been varied and eclectic, counting artists as disparate as Boy George, Voces8 and Angelique Kidjo among his credits.

Their co-written debut album takes its cues from the likes of Yebba, Lizzy McAlpine, Sufjan Stevens and Laura Mvula, and they are looking forward to finally presenting it in person after a sold-out album launch this summer.
