On Wednesday 3rd of December, World Heart Beat Music Academy hosted its very first Celtic Fiddle concert supported by Seymour Green Estate Agents. Students as young as 4 performed alongside top Celtic musicians Ben Gunnery, Willie Barr and Colman Connolly.
The Celtic Fiddle school at World Heart Beat Music Academy is now in its second year and has grown exponentially in such a short period of time. The rhythm and jaunty nature of Celtic music creates the perfect atmosphere of fun to encourage even the youngest aspiring musicians to pick up an instrument. For some of the young musicians, this was their first time performing live; their confidence was remarkable and their love of music evident in their playing.
Seymour Green Estate Agents, also based in Wandsworth, began sponsoring the Celtic Fiddle school in September this year. It is through local support such as this that the World Heart Beat Music Academy is able to continue delivering bespoke, high quality music tuition and diverse performance opportunities for disadvantaged young people throughout Wandsworth and the surrounding boroughs. Thanks to Don’t Stop The Music Now’s recent generous donation of 41 violins and Seymour Green’s ongoing support, the World Heart Beat Music Academy can now offer violin and Celtic Fiddle lessons to even more young people.
The World Heart Beat Music Academy envisions a world where music, as a universal form of communication, bridges cultural, political, economic and linguistic barriers. The Academy’s work focuses on social change and inspiring young people to lift their aspirations, breaking the cycle of disadvantage and inspiring excellence in music and beyond.
