Geraldine O'Reilly
Trumpet
Geraldine started the piano at four years old and began the trombone at 15 years. She attended The Pimlico Centre for Young Musicians, whilst also being a member of London Schools Symphony Orchestra.
She then went on to study at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, and after graduating had a very busy and diverse musical career. As a professional trombone player she worked with the BBC Symphony Orchestra, City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, Royal Liverpool Philhamonic Orchestra and various ballet and opera companies and played in numerous West End shows.
She also taught at Pimlico Centre for Young Musicians, Junior Guildhall, various schools and taught privately, teaching all brass instruments concentrating on trumpet and trombone.
After a career break she concentrated on music production working with the BBC, MTV and Royal Opera House before returning to teaching.
For the last ten years she has been teaching brass and piano to diploma level plus aural and theory and accompanying for Trinity and ABRSM exams.
Greatest Musical Inspiration
My father was a fantastic professional pianist and I tried to follow in his footsteps. Luckily enough he didn’t play the trombone!
