The existence of mavericks such as EyiTemi is a welcome spanner in the far from perfect works … a poised and commanding delivery… Kevin Le Gendre (Journalist, Broadcaster, Author)
British-Nigerian singer-songwriter and 2x innovation panel judge on BBC Jazz Awards EyiTemi, begins her new three-part series, at World Heart Beat with an intimate exploration of her Afro roots, marking the release of her latest single “Fighter” (2025).
This performance, the first of three venue immersive shows, blends soul, afro, jazz, spoken word and gospel. Supported by her 8-piece band and special guest Chase Morton, EyiTemi showcases her honest storytelling style through new music and reimagined tracks spanning three albums. The performance explores the original inspiration from her Nigerian childhood to the moment she chose music over self doubt.
This first show doubles as a live recording session for her limited edition EP, capturing EyiTemi’s raw authenticity, before her performance at London Jazz Festival this November.

About The Artist

EyiTemi’s sound stretches past generic Soul, weaving in a diverse range of music influences from Jazz, Afro, Gospel to Folk and laid back funk. Her musical inspirations starting from Nigerian sounds of her youth, legends Nina Simone, Stevie Wonder and Miles Davis to favourites Jill Scott and India Aire.
EyiTemi walks a path that is comfortably and firmly, her own. Her music is personal, self written and rich with intention.
She has sung most of her life (mainly in church) but moved into the singer-songwriter arena in 2020; releasing 2 EPs along the way.
In September 2024, EyiTemi released 3rd album, Kaleidoscope – recorded live with her band at the iconic Rockfield Studios, Wales.
Her single Fighter, celebrating her Nigerian roots, is released 24th July 2025 on Bandcamp and her website.
GUEST ARTIST – CHASE MORTON
Chase Morton is a multi-talented British Soul Singer from Northampton, now based in London. His sound is soul reminiscent of D’Angelo and Trent D’arby – both his musical inspirations—as well as Jimmy Hendrix and Stevie Wonder.
A prolific songwriter, he wrote and performed with his band for years before earning himself a solo record deal in the late 90’s. He is now an independent artist and working on the release of a new EP.
Chase’s musical adventures also took him to auditioning for The Voice where he earned a place in the live TV performances with Boy George, his mentor.
Fun and impressive fact – Chase is world champion in many martial arts disciplines, including Karate, Kickboxing and Jiu-jitsu.
He performs solo acoustic (guitar) on the night.
