Piano Day with Erased Tapes

It was such a wonderful and unforgettable night – so glad you were a part of it. I can’t wait to visit your academy on the day we deliver the piano. We’re very proud to be able to help and inspire a new generation of young musicians with this fantastic instrument.
-Robert Raths, Founder Erased tapes

On 28th March, Erased Tapes Records hosted an intimate evening of piano performances from Peter Broderick, Michael Price & Peter Gregson and Douglas Dare at London’s The Courtyard Theatre in celebration of Piano Day 2016. Proceeds raised  from this event were used to purchase a piano for the Academy. We are immensely grateful for this generous donation.

It was just a beautiful magical evening last night. What can I say! We were so extremely touched, moved and honoured by your inspiration, the inspiration of your wonderful and great artists and for your donation to World Heart Beat of a beautiful piano. Thank you. Piano Day really is A joyful gift to humanity !! – what one person can do for another, and in this case for an entire generation of future musicians.
As you mentioned yesterday, a Piano embodies so many dreams, untold stories and journeys and We, at World Heart Beat are so grateful to you to be part of that journey, to be part of that story and of that dream.

It was such a wonderful moment as this beautiful piano was delivered to Battersea Fields Practice on Patmore Estate where we have been reaching out to the local community by offering free workshops for babies and toddlers. Patmore Estate has an unemployment rate of 1 in 3, and is one of the most deprived areas in Wandsworth. There are so few opportunities for creative activities on the estate, so this piano has already made a big difference to the young children here. One of the ran straight over to it and started playing straight away, then turned to his mum and said “Mum can we stay, I don’t want to go home!”

Wow it’s so beautiful to see the piano being put to action right away. Thanks so much again for giving this piano a home and an opportunity to affect and inspire the lives of many children! What an honour it is, truly – Robert Raths
