About Ana de la Vega
Argentine-Australian Ana de la Vega has held Principal Flute positions with the EPK Europa Philharmonie in Baden-Wurttenberg in Germany and the Philharmonie der Nationen in Hamburg. Recently she won the position of Principal Flute with the Britten-Pears World Festival Orchestra in the U.K and more recently has been performing with the English Chamber Orchestra in London. She was a student of the Conservatoire Superieur de Paris, where she studied for her Premier Prix under Catherine Cantin as well as with Phillipe Pierlot and Raymond Guiot.
Whilst in Paris Ana played with the L’Orchestre de la Conservatoire de Paris at the Opera Bastille and with L’Orchestre de Hector Berlioz de Paris until she won at 23 years of age, the position of Principal Flute with the Orquestra do Norte in Oporto, Portugal. She continues to be active as a chamber musician performing with the string quintet of the Bucharest Radio Symphony Orchestra, with whom she focuses strongly on Czech music of the 18th century. During her short career her engagements as chamber musician and soloist have taken her across Europe, U.S.A, Australia and more recently the Middle East; she has toured extensively as soloist throughout Spain and Portugal performing the Mozart Flute Concertos and the Mozart Concerto for Flute and Harp.
Ana de la Vega’s exquisite and vivacious playing brings the music to life through her clear articulation and faithfulness to the musical line’. 2MBS FM
