			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Born in the East End of London, virtuoso vocalist, actor and composer Cleveland Watkiss studied voice at The London school of singing with Opera coach Arnold Rose and at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. Cleveland was also one of the co-founders of the vastly influential Jazz Warriors Big Band.</p>
<p>Cleveland’s amazing vocal virtuosity has seen him perform with many diverse artists from around the world.  He is also a very keen Music Educator, working as a voice instructor with workshops in Venues/Schools, colleges and Universities around the UK.</p>
<p>More recently, demonstrating great versatility, Cleveland was given the starring role in both Julian Joseph’s groundbreaking Jazz Opera <em>Bridgetower</em>, and <em>Shadowball</em> his performances being met with considerable acclaim. He continues to perform in many of the major concert halls around the world with <em>VocalSuite</em> which is a solo voice performance and with his new Quartet <em>CWQ</em></p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>If I had to put a date to my musical journey- it probably began in the womb. My mother is a singer and I dont doubt that the first notes that slipped into my pre-natal consciousness were hers. She and my father were my greatest inspiration and I fed on the creative expression that was innate to them. As a 2 year old, I would follow my father into tabla class and during these wanderings discovered my natural inclination to the instrument. This inclination turned into a passion and at the age of 7 I started learning Tabla. For me this meant devoting a minimum of 7 hours daily, for the next 12 years! It has since helped me carve a niche for myself in this beautiful world of music.</p>
<p>Although training was rigorous, it was a 12 year buzz. At 8, I had my first public performance with mom and by 13, I was working with All India Radio on numerous recordings. I won all my school, inter-school, inter-college competitions, performed local gigs and simultaneously worked with the Gujarati film industry. In 1998 I won the Classical Tabla Solo competition at national level in India.</p>
<p>My work with Bollywood followed this, and it was amazing to play with the artistes and Directors that I had grown up admiring.</p>
<p>Although it was an exciting period I began to feel limited by the scope of music and wanted to push those boundaries to explore further. My first UK tour in 2001 was a timely catalyst, and I came back from India to read for M.B.A. So it was as a student here that I began flirting with international music. The raw exposure to such diversity of music and musical traditions felt completely surreal.  I have also stood as one of the Directors of International Music Week &#8211; coming to the UK has caused the kind of musical work I do to broaden.<br />
My fling with international music has become nothing less than a full blown affair!</p>
<p>Being a percussionist, I have played different forms of percussion with a number of bands including Fusing Naked, Rebel Uprising, UK Transculture, &#8220;El Aire&#8221; a unique experience of Flamenco Fusion spanning spiritual world music, fusion, indo-jazz, hip-hop and African drumming. Playing the BBC Summer Festival 2004 was again a motivation for me. The on-going projects have been as diverse: from playing at the Winterthur International Film Festival 2004 in Switzerland to portraying Mahatma Gandhi&#8217;s life through music at &#8220;SOAS&#8221;. Played concerts in various countries like France, Italy, Belgium, Russia, Germany, India, Spain, Switzerland to name a few. The fun doesn’t stop, I look to introducing my own style, both Eastern and Western to the borderless WORLD of MUSIC.</p>

<blockquote><p>It all began one day at high school …I remember walking past a practice room and hearing a sixth former saxophonist playing and just getting a strange feeling that I must learn this instrument and that somehow it would become part of my life. </p></blockquote>
<p>Luckily there was one remaining saxophone which Patrick quickly claimed.</p>
<p>Patrick has worked with the Jazz Warriors, Jazz Jamaica, Julian Joseph Big Band, Julian Joseph and Jason Rebello quartets, Incognito, London Metropolitan Orchestra, Lou Reed, Bill Bruford’s Earthworks, Stevie Wonder, Basia, Jocelyn Brown, James Brown, Dina Carroll, Desiré, Mica Paris, Lulu, Sister Sledge, Omar, Pete Townsend, Dave Stewart, Carleen Anderson, Beverly Knight, Diana Ross and Bobby Womack.</p>

<p>Graduated in cello at the Chopin Academy of Music in Warsaw. As a student at the Academy, she was granted scholarship to learn SARANGI under the guidance of maestro Pandit Ram Narayan in India. Her artistic interests are marked by different musical systems and forms. Since 1981 she has been studying unique techniques of playing Asian instruments, travelling to India, China, Korea, Mongolia, Japan and Middle East.  Maria has created The Non-European Music Section at F. Chopin Music Academy, as well as giving courses at Musicology Institute at the Warsaw University which portrays the connections and differences between various musical systems. Comparative studies and multicultural experiences allowed her to undertake the highly difficult task of reconstructing and taking into consideration artistic as well as scientific values of two missing traditional Polish<br />
instruments, the Suka, and fiddle from Plock.</p>
<p>For years she has been giving lectures, organizing music workshops and promoting young musicians. In her musical journey she crosses many barriers and breaks common stereotypes. Yet she makes it with particular respect for the autonomy of each tradition from which she draws her<br />
inspiration.</p>
<p>Maria Pomianowska as well plays solo or accompanies different music groups folk, jazz, pop, and classical. She performs on the following instruments:<br />
