“The National Portfolio is a fresh, ambitious and wide-ranging group of organisations that we believe will bring new energy to the arts and cultural sector.” Arts Council England has just announced that World Heart Beat has been included as one of its National Portfolio Organisations for 2018 – 2022.
From 28th July to 1st August World Heart Beat are proud to host top Argentinian Tango artist, Blas Rivera, who will be leading our very first Summer School. All instrumentalists are welcome, and vocalists too!
Nathan Dawkins, 13yrs old, has studied at World Heart Beat for five years. He plays the clarinet (Grade 6), saxophone (Grade 4), and the bass guitar. Nathan has been honoured with Student of the Month due to his determination to achieve, community spirit, and his support and mentorship of his fellow students.
On Monday the 26th of June, at 7pm, Trevor Watkis, Tony Kofi, and Byron Wallen, hosted an evening celebrating World Heart Beat’s passion for Jazz. Our fantastic Jazz students showcased their talents across a varied programme.
Since the success of our first Piano Party in 2013 we have made the event an annual occasion. Each party celebrates the excellence and hard work of our piano students, with performances featuring their favourite pieces and original compositions.
Step into Dance, the Royal Academy of Dance’s Inclusive company, has commissioned Julian Joseph, our lead patron and top Jazz pianist, to create an original piece for Step Live! – a new dance piece. This will be premiered at the company’s ten-year anniversary celebrations at The Royal Festival Hall on Monday the 17th of July.
We are always looking for young musicians and bands who would like to be considered for our events and workshops. At the moment we are not recruiting for new teachers, but we always welcome CVs. Learn to play the Brazilian Guitar at World Heart Beat Music Academy in London!
World Heart Beat Music Academy students now have a performance slot on the last Sunday of every month at Chelsea Theatre, sponsored by 606 Club. Come along for a relaxing evening of wonderful jazz music from London’s most exciting young jazz musicians. Music starts at 6:45pm.
